Environmental Sustainability

Goals & Progress

We recognize that environmental sustainability is a journey and not a short-term endeavor. Achieving measurable results requires a conscious effort and a healthy mix of focus, innovation, commitment and optimism. And while we are proud of our accomplishments, we realize that there is still much work to be done.

We have set aggressive, measurable goals for 2015 to reduce energy and water use, greenhouse gas emissions and waste sent to landfills; and we track our progress at managed, full-service hotels with Hyatt EcoTrack. This web-based tracking tool gathers monthly data from our properties to help us benchmark our performance and drive improvement.

This depth of information has enabled us to set our environmental goals, track our progress and identify new opportunities for improvement.

*These reductions are the result of on-going efforts to make our operations more efficient through measures that include, among other things, water and energy efficient equipment and upgrades, diligent management of resource consumption as well as, in some instances, shifting certain operations, such as laundry, to outside vendors.
*Energy, water, and greenhouse gas emissions reduction goals set against 2006 baseline; waste reduction goal set against 2010 baseline
*Waste goals and data reflect full service managed hotels in North America
*Some data have been updated from previous disclosures as we continue to refine our methodology.
